I am a senior at Denison University, and am from the Philadelphia suburbs. My themes, mediums, and subject matter are endlessly changing, but this is what has stayed constant:
I am inspired by experience, memory, and time, which all go hand in hand and materialize themselves in my work. I am very interested in representing the fleeting nature of memory and experience. Much of my visual inspiration comes from the places I have been. While traveling, I have watched interactions and movement within spaces. Without people, all of these places are static. Instead of making these ideas into concrete still lifes, I illustrate them as ephemeral ghosts -- something untouchable.
In addition to experience, the written word and typographic character form has always fascinated me. I want my art to say something, whether literally or figuratively -- sometimes it's a whisper, sometimes it's a scream. I love to stitch together individual characters to form words, and then fit together words, lines, and paragraphs like puzzle pieces to create a perfect, harmonious work of art.
